Francesca is a designer, maker, builder and project manager weaving a material-focused approach into collaborative practices across design, construction and education.
Francesca qualified in Architecture at Milano Politecnico, and completed two Masters of Architecture in the UK at the Royal College of Art and The Centre for Alternative Technology.
She is Co-founding Director of both Social Designs CIC and ReCollective, and oversees female-led construction contractor; Social Constructs, whose most recent construction project was Highly Commended for the RIBAJ MacEwan Prize 2026. This project forms the basis of her ongoing research into construction sites as places of learning and empowerment for all bodies and abilities.
She has designed, built and project managed construction work on multiple projects in Cornwall and London, celebrated for their use of second-hand timber, hemp-lime, and various applications of local clay derived from Imerys mining waste in Cornwall and excavated earth from construction of HS2 in London.
Francesca also teaches at Falmouth University as an Associate Lecturer.
